Services
The Library has copy machines for public use. Copies are 10 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color. Patrons may also copy files to a USB drive and print from USB drives as well as scan items to their email.
The Library has a fax machine located near the Circulation desk, which can be used to send domestic faxes. The cost is $1.25 for the first page, $1 for each additional page. Please see a clerk at the Circulation desk for assistance.
For patrons with low vision, the library has LifeStyle CANDY, a handheld electronic video magnifier that helps people with low vision read printed materials like mail, magazines, newspapers, menus, catalogs and much more.
The library also has a Microfilm reader available.
Adults: The library has six public computer workstations available in the Adult Reference area that offer internet access and Microsoft software. Patrons can sign onto these computers with their Babylon Public Library card or a valid Suffolk County Library card and the last four digits of their phone number. Printing is available from the public computers for 10 cents per page in black and white, 25 cents per page for color printing.
Patrons may bring in their own laptops/devices and access the public wireless (Wi-Fi) network. The library has wireless printing available to patrons who are using their own devices. Fees are 10 cents per page in black and white, 25 cents per page for color printing.
Children: The Children’s Department has two laptops that offer internet access and Microsoft software with printing capabilities.
There is a Peek-a-book module which children can access with headphones and listen to a book being read aloud.
Welcome to the Babylon Public Library’s Books by Mail Homebound Services Program. This service provides a convenient way for homebound Babylon Public Library cardholders of all ages to obtain and return library materials by mail.
As part of our Books by Mail Homebound Services, books are mailed to your home or Facility in a teal colored book bag and may be kept for 21 days. When you send them back, turn the address card over to display the Babylon Public Library address and place it back in the plastic holder. You may leave the bag in your mailbox for your mailman to pick up. You pay no postage or overdue fines, but you are expected to return books in a timely manner. As with all library patrons, materials that are not returned or are returned in damaged condition are your responsibility.

The Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (SBMHeLP) is a partnership between the Public Libraries of Suffolk County, a unique group of healthcare professionals and graduate student interns from the fields of social work, public health, nursing, nutrition and library science, working together to provide access to virtual healthcare related resources for public library patrons throughout Suffolk County. This partnership looks to enhance the health and well-being of Suffolk County residents through library programming, collection development and dissemination of information on current health topics impacting our communities. The program is supported in part by the American Heart Association of Long Island.

Books are a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, to say “thank you” to someone, to extend get-well wishes, to congratulate a friend or family member on a special accomplishment, or to honor a special teacher.
The Babylon Public Library has two Little Free Libraries in the Village of Babylon. The concept of the Little Free Library is “Take a Book, Share a Book”.
The Little Free Library’s mission is to build community, spark creativity and inspire reading.
There is a Little Free Library in Argyle Park which is located on Montauk Highway in Babylon Village. The Little Free Library can be found by the benches near the playground.
The second Little Free Library is at the Park Avenue Playground in Babylon Village. The playground was also recently updated with new playground equipment.
