Imagine Your Story Children’s Summer Reading
Summer Reading Club 2020
With everything that is going on these days, we are very excited to be able to keep the Summer Reading Club up and running. As we work towards re-opening the library in structured phases, we are finding new ways to continue to provide the services we have always offered the public. Summer Reading is one of those, must have, services that we look forward to and enjoy every year.
The Summer Reading program is split into two groups, the 0-4 year olds, and the 5-12 year olds. The younger group will be keeping track of the number of books read, and will earn 5 points for each book. The older group will be keeping track of the number of minutes read earning 1 point per minute. There are a number of prizes to be earned and each participant will be able to pick up their prize bag upon completing Summer Reading.
We will not be using paper logs this year, but instead will be using and online resource called Readsquared. Readsquared is available online by clicking here and creating an account. You can also go to the App Store or Google Play and download the free app which will let you track your reading anytime and anywhere. This resource will allow you to keep track of your reading and the prizes you have earned, and even see what programs are happening at the library. Earn special virtual badges by taking part in our programming and most of all, have fun reading and enjoy your summer. We look forward to seeing you soon.
